An old summer house that combines simplicity and respect to its essence. This residence, situated in Calella de Palafrugell, was amended following the latest trends in decoration but reinforcing the most genuine features such as the arches in the hall and living. The area of the sofas, formerly a closed room, was opened to the dining room through a simple arc that mimics the style of the existing double one. Here, a wooden cupboard was built as those commonly found in these houses, which combines well with window shutters, preserved in all rooms.
All openings were painted light gray, a color that matches the polished concrete floors present throughout the house and bathrooms, where showers and shelves are handmade and lime plastered. White walls help to create the simple and bright atmosphere that permeates all the space, protagonised by the owners’ collection of artworks. A porch was built outside -also paved with polished concrete to provide continuity- which acts as a cheerful summer dining room. Also noteworthy is the children’s room by which, given the small size of the space, handmade furniture was designed. Thanks to a clever arrangement and choice of white, the feeling of overload was avoided.
